The "UFO-hacker" Gary McKinnon's mother Janis Sharp will try to enter politics. However, she does not expect to be elected. The goal is rather to create awareness about her son's extradition and civil liberties. Read more on BBC.

Professor: UFOs should be a legitimate university subject

The Telegraph reports (April 13, 2010) that Professor Philip Haseley has stated, that UFOs ought to be a serious mainstream academic subject. He emphasises, that when you utter that "people believe in UFOs", you suggest that it is a matter of faith. That is not the case, Haseley says. He underscores that there is plenty of evidence. Haseley is employed at the Niagara County Community College in the state of New York. Read the article here.

Reuters has requested the polling company Ipsos to ask 22.000 people in 22 countries about their opinions on visitors from space. Approx. 20% believe that there are guests from the universe among us. Read more.CNN/Time poll from 1997 indicated that 80% of the US-population thought that their government was hiding information about alien life.
